»Looking for people for Dream Auction

Dream Auction, composed of both a live and silent auction, aims to raise money for the Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, an organization that provides specialized pediatric palliative care for children living with a life-threatening illness and support for their families. It also gives support towards future community-based social events created by Simon Fraser University’s SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise).

We need Officers for the following positions:

Event Coordinator

 As the Event Coordinator you will be in charge of the logistics for the day which will include:

o   The itinerary/schedule/programme for the guest

o   The guest list

o   The set up and decor of the event

o   The volunteers helping out on the day of the event.

o   The registration process for the guests

o   The collection process for the item pick up after the auction is finished for the night as well as possibly helping me and Anoop with some ideas as to what will be best way to handle this situation.

o   Getting Entertainment for the night

Sponsorship Coordinator

 As the Sponsorship Coordinator you will be responsible for the following:

o   Talking to various businesses and asking them to donate items to be auctioned off at the event.

o   Convince the businesses that it is a good idea to donate as they will be getting a lot of publicity and marketing as well as the proceeds are going to a good cause.

o   Making sure that the businesses that do agree to donate fill out a Commitment Form which will be found online at the Dream Auction Website next month.

o   Making sure that you follow up and remind them of their commitment.

o   Arrange for the tangible items to be picked up or transported directly to the venue on the day of the event.

 

Marketing Coordinator

 As the Marketing Coordinator you will be responsible for the following:

o   Creating a Marketing campaign for the Event.

o   Marketing the Event through any mediums available to us ex. tv, radio, newspaper, internet etc.

o   Making sure that we portray the right image and consistent branding throughout the marketing campaign.

o   Putting the items available to be auctioned off into packages and come up with a name for that package whilst tying it in with the theme (still in the works) of the event.
