SIFE Simon Fraser (previously known as ACE) History
In 1991, Jade Bourelle and serveral other Simon Fraser University students founded the SFU Chapter of ACE. As one of the strongest teams in the early/mid-nineties we were able to successfully win Chapter of the Year a few times and have our name engraved on the Stronach Cup.
In 2000, ACE partnered with Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE). SIFE is the largest, fastest growing, not-for-profit student organization in the world. It is changing the world through highly dedicated student teams on 1,800 university campuses in more than 40 countries.
ACE-SFU has changed a lot since our creation in 1991. We’ve most recently begun developing stronger relationships with our school and community. It’s been an exciting year as we’ve increased our impact and helped truly make a difference in the world.
SIFE World Cup
Dedicated student teams across 1700 campuses and 42 countries change the world by teaching the principles of free enterprise. These teams make a difference in their community by helping people empower themselves and achieve new successes.
Each year, 42 countries send their best SIFE teams to compete at the SIFE World Cup. In 2008, national champion SIFE teams will converge in Singapore to present their community outreach programs to top executives from leading companies. The teams will be competing to be named the SIFE World Cup champion.
The event brings together teams from all over the world to share extraordinary projects that have positively impacted millions of individuals around the globe. With the many different cultures and ethnicity, all these SIFE teams shared their passion for educating others the principles of a free market economics, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, success skills and business ethics.
